"All of us who work in schools want the very best for our children, regardless of their background and ability. Effective and positive parent partnerships can have very real and lasting impact on improvements in childrens' behaviour, attendance and achievement. Research makes it clear that effective partnership with parents has a major impact on the learning of children and young people."
Children mostly pick up their learning attitudes and behaviours from what they see around them, and this is particularly important at home. Creating an environment at home that values learning has been shown to have a major impact on children's future prospects.
It is therefore important for school and parents to work closely together to ensure our children have the very best start to life. Attached is our plan on how we hope this will be achieved. It has been written by four teachers (all parents) and two parents of children in school. We regularly review the plan and would welcome any feedback from parents or even better, if you would like to join our working group please contact school as your input would be much appreciated.
