Welcome to 6HP!
It is so lovely to welcome everyone back into school. Please check our class page regularly for updates about what we have been learning in class as well as for useful information.
Home Working!
Hello 6HP!
Happy New Year!
Starting from Wednesday 6th January our normal class lessons will be moving online just like they did when we were self-isolating in November.
Each day online lessons will be taught and you will be required to join the lessons with me.
Any resources that are needed will be saved in the home working pack (access through the school website: Children / Homeworking Packs - scroll to the bottom of the page for the link).
Some of the activities (often maths) or tasks set as part of the lesson will be completed on Century as you have used this in school. The website, username and password is listed below this message on the class page. Additional nuggets may be set as well for further learning and we will also ask you to photograph your longer writing task each week and upload it to Century so we can see your work. This will allow us to see which areas you are confident with and which areas you may need a little extra support with.
Please remember to read your reading book every day and take the time to have a go on Times Table Rock Stars.
This is my email - heidi.perrett@tiptongreen.sandwell.sch.uk - please feel free to email if you are having any problems accessing the home learning or want to share photos of your work.

Important Information
PE
Our class PE Days are Monday and Wednesday.
Mondays: Please come into school in your school PE kit.
Wednesdays: Please just bring your trainers into school.
Homework
Children will be bringing their reading book and reading journal home every night. Children need to read for 15 minutes a night at least and record this in their diary. If a parent can sign the diary to confirm they have read that would be brilliant! Thankyou
Biography fact finding!
We had great fun this afternooon searching the school grounds for carefully hidden facts about Hitler's life. We will be using our facts to help write biographically about his life and rise to power.
Professor McGinty
We enjoyed a visit from Professor McGinty this week who told us all about his time travelling adventures back to 1940. Can you see what he is talking about in each picture? What was your favourite part?
Our Class Author
Our class author is J.K Rowling. We have many treats in store as we read and enjoy her books and dip into the films in comparison. Watch this space for photos of our classroom!
If you fancy reading JK Rowling's latest book - click on the link below for The Ickabog!
WOW! JK Rowling is publishing chapters from her new book - The Ickabog - online everyday from Tuesday 26th May free so children can read something new and fun in Lockdown.
Find it here: https://www.theickabog.com/
There is also an art competition linked to the story. Each day, JK Rowling will suggest drawings or paintings you could create linked to that chapter. You can then enter them to be in with a chance of having them chosen to feature in the book when a hardback copy is released later in the year! How exciting!
Happy Reading! :-)
