Our Year 3 busy bees had a great time retelling the story of the Three Little Pigs outside, ready for their golden write of retelling the story. The small group role played as the different characters and really enjoyed finding examples of sticks, bricks and straw that could be the pigs houses. They also pretended to be the wolf falling down the chimney! We can't wait to share their lovely writing.

Children enjoyed a very important water safety assembly delivered by a lifeguard from our local swimming pool. The assembly taught children how to stay safe in and around water, particularly during the warmer months when more people visit rivers, lakes, canals, and other open water areas. The lifeguard explained the dangers of swimming in open water and shared practical advice on what to do in an emergency. The children tackled a tricky tutorial to create an optical oval illusion! It took plenty of concentration, careful and perseverance, but the results were fantastic. The first image shows the tutorial example, followed by our own unique interpretations.
