Welcome to our nurture group!
The nurture group is a small group of children within mainstream school, supported by the whole staff. The group has its own nurture group practitioners who collect the children from their classrooms and return them at the end of the session.
The nurture group leader is a qualified NNEB and has completed the 4 day nurture training.
The nurture group leader is Mrs Dawn Caddy.
She is supported by – Mrs Doody, and Miss Walsh.
The nurture group is overseen by the deputy head, Julia Wise, who has also completed the 4 day course. However, the day to day running and planning is the responsibility of Mrs Caddy.
Every effort is made to ensure that Nurture staff are not required to cover absent colleagues and that the nurture group runs consistently.
Visits by other staff, outside agencies and parents are carefully planned.
What happens in nurture group?
In nurture group, there are lots of different and fun activities that all follow the topic of the week.
