Hello and welcome to our 3 Simon class page! Your teacher is Miss Gaskin and your teaching assistants are Mrs Bourne and Mrs Harris. We love to learn and have lots of fun in 3 Simon. You can find our classroom next to reception and we love to have visitors so we can show off our beautiful work!
Important things to remember
Monday: Our indoor PE day. You need to wear trainers with your school uniform.
Thursday: Our outdoor PE day. You need to wear a school PE kit / tracksuit to school.
Try to read every day at home. Miss Gaskin and Mrs Bourne will check your reading records once a week (usually a Thursday!).
You will be sent home with spellings to learn every week. We will have a test every week on a Thursday. You can get up to gold cloud if you learn your spellings!
📖📚 Reading is very important in 3 Simon 📚 📖

What are we up to at the moment?
Autumn 2 📚 🧮
At the moment, we are exploring mystery stories in English. I wonder what will happen next...
We are in the middle of our addition and subtraction unit at the moment. We are learning to apply all our knowledge when answering worded problems. Soon, we will be moving on to multiplication and division. We can’t wait to learn our times tables!
So far, we have learnt what a light source is and how to make shadows. By the end of the topic, we will have learnt all about transparent, translucent and opaque materials. We can’t wait to carry out our own investigations.
Geography 🗺 🌋
Beneath Our Feet is one of Miss Gaskin's favourite topics! We will learn all about the layers of the Earth and tectonic plates. We will then find out how earthquakes occur and why volcanoes erupt. We might even be able to make our own volcanoes erupt! 🌋
Exciting things coming up
It’s nearly time for our Y3 Nativity!
As you all know, Christmas is Miss Gaskin's favourite time of year. It's not too early to play Christmas music in November, right? We are all very excited!
We will soon be sorting out parts of our play. It is important that children learn their lines and know all of the lyrics to our Christmas songs.
Our Christmas nativity will take place on Tuesday 13th December 2022. ⭐️
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
