This week in Gardening Club, we had a fantastic time planting beautiful petunias in our plant pots. We also sowed wildflower seeds in another pot, learning how important these flowers are for attracting helpful insects like bees and butterflies.
We discussed the vital role insects play in our gardens, especially in pollination and keeping plants healthy. To continue our gardening journey at home, we were each given seeds and our own plant pots to take away and grow.
A particularly exciting discovery was made in one of our pots – an ant colony complete with tunnels and tiny eggs! We carefully observed the ants at work and made sure not to disturb their home.
It was a fun and educational session full of hands-on learning and nature exploration!
