Tipton Green Triumphs at Holly Lodge Cricket Tournament
A very excited group of Year 3 and 4 headed to Holly Lodge High to represent Tipton Green. Year 3 Adverts!
Our Year 3 pupils stepped into the spotlight as they filmed themselves reading their very own advert scripts! As part of their learning, the children have been busy writing persuasive adverts to promote a chocolate bar. World Book Day 2026
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in school. The children came dressed as their favourite book characters, and it was fantastic to see so many creative costumes around the school. Reading Week
Our reading ambassadors led an assembly at Silvertrees Infant School. Using the book Wombat Stew by Marcia K Vaughan and Pamela Lofts, they told the story about a very clever Dingo who had caught a wombat and decided to make a gooey, brewy, yummy, chewy wombat stew! NCPCC's Pantasaurus in Year 3
Today, Year 3 had a talk from Mrs Wise and Mrs Gilmore about NCPCC's Pantasaurus. Pantasaurus is a friendly dinosaur character created by the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) to help young children understand an important message about keeping their bodies safe.

Healthy Eating Workshop
Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic healthy eating workshop with the school nurses this week. 🥗 The children learnt about the Eatwell Plate and how it helps us to understand the different food groups our bodies need to stay healthy. Safer Internet Day
Today, School council kicked off our Safer Internet Day 2026 with an assembly. They talked about this year's theme - the safe use of artificial intelligence. School council shared with the school why we are taking part in Safer Internet Day, when we might use AI in our day-to-day lives, and also told the school what to do when things go wrong when using artificial intelligence and who to talk to. Into the World of Elf Road
Today, Year 3 were transported through a magical portal into a world of dragons and magic! They had the experience of looking at a magical new world, where a dragon stands guard over a feast of fruit and cakes. This was all part of our stimulus for our new writing unit based on the text 'elf road', a magical short story about a young boy who goes through a portal and meets mysterious elves guarding a magical feast.

Year 3 Geometry Detectives
Year 3 have been learning about right angles as part of their NCETM maths mastery journey. They began by exploring turns, before investigating what makes an angle a right angle. Year 3 Litter Picking Champions
Children in Year 3 have been taking great care of their school community by helping to keep our grounds clean and tidy. Armed with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the children worked together to collect rubbish and make a positive difference to their environment. This activity helped pupils understand the importance of looking after shared spaces and taking responsibility for their surroundings. Science Club
Years 3 & 4 science club had lots of fun making earthquake proof structures. Using jelly sweets and cocktail sticks, we tested each structure to ensure the it could withstand earthquake conditions. The children all did really well and even managed to not eat any of the sweets!!

Grinch Day continues...
Year 3 Year 4 Children in Year 5 created paper chains with how to be kind on them and they also created a Grinch bauble as a keepsake. They were successful in their attempts to warm up the heart of the Grinch as he bought their presents in the afternoon. Sharing Stories Across the School!
This afternoon, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 all took part in an exciting book swap session full of stories, discussion and a real love of reading. Learning in Year 3
For our Science topic ‘Magnets and Forces’, Year 3 have been learning about friction and how it affects moving objects. We set up an investigation to find out how an object moves on different surfaces. We found out that smoother surfaces create less friction, allowing an object to travel further.
