It was Year 6's turn for Sports Day! They had great fun participating in a variety of events, showing enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and determination throughout.

We are incredibly proud of all of our Year 6 children after their first day of SATs. We were absolutely blown away by the science projects that the children created for the science fair. It was wonderful to see the creativity, curiosity, and effort that went into each project. Our reading ambassadors led an assembly at Silvertrees Infant School. Using the book Wombat Stew by Marcia K Vaughan and Pamela Lofts, they told the story about a very clever Dingo who had caught a wombat and decided to make a gooey, brewy, yummy, chewy wombat stew! Today, School council kicked off our Safer Internet Day 2026 with an assembly. They talked about this year's theme - the safe use of artificial intelligence. School council shared with the school why we are taking part in Safer Internet Day, when we might use AI in our day-to-day lives, and also told the school what to do when things go wrong when using artificial intelligence and who to talk to. This week in science, Year 6 explored the components of blood and the important jobs each part performs inside our bodies. To bring our learning to life, we created a model of blood using everyday items: Cheerios represented red blood cells , marshmallows became white blood cells , rice stood in for platelets , and orange squash with a pinch of sugar acted as the plasma . This term, Year 6 have been diving into the fascinating world of ancient civilisations, and one of the highlights of our learning has been our virtual journey to Chichén Itzá—one of the New Seven Wonders of the World ! A great start to Cooking Club this spring term for Years 5 and 6! The children made healthy pizzas by spreading tomato purée onto wraps and adding a range of toppings, including mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn, ham and pepperoni. They practised cutting vegetables carefully and safely, worked well together, and showed responsibility by helping with washing up and cleaning the tables afterwards.
