This week, the children started painting the Christmas tree decorations that they made from salt dough last week. After leaving their creations to set and air dry, they were ready to add some colour! Our young entrepreneurs have been busy getting creative in preparation for our Christmas Fayre! This week, the children have been making salt dough Christmas decorations, which they will paint and decorate next week, ready to sell at the fayre. The children have enjoyed getting hands-on, developing their creativity and learning about enterprise as they work together to create products to sell. We can’t wait to see their finished creations! 🎅✨

For the final 3D Illusion Art session of the year, the children created 3D impressions of their hands. They used felt-tip pens and highlighters to create the illusion that their hands were jumping off the page!

In Gardening Club, the children enjoyed the beautiful weather and spent time outside caring for our garden by pulling out weeds and helping to keep the area tidy. As gardening club was cancelled tonight due to the disco, some children volunteered to help in the garden during their lunchtime. Some of the seeds had started to grow into plants, so it was important to move them into our new vegetable patch. First, we made sure the ground was clear of weeds. More Creative Fun in Art Club with Amazing 3D Floating Cubes!

3D art club watched a 30 second tutorial tonight and used felt and squared paper to create an optical illusion hole. They are building on their skills week after week and looking forward to challenging themselves in next week’s session!

The Gardening Club have been working hard to develop the sensory walk by adding more pinecones, white stones, and dried natural materials to create different textures and scents. They also repotted the strawberry plants so they have more space to continue growing. The children worked together enthusiastically to help transform the area into a welcoming garden space. Some children weeded around the apple tree, carefully removing unwanted plants to give new growth the best chance to thrive, while others prepared the raised planters so we can begin growing a variety of flowers, herbs, and vegetables in the coming weeks. Following an online tutorial, they showed impressive focus and patience, carefully working through each step to achieve the optical illusion effect. The children have worked really hard in Woolcraft Club. They have created pom-poms in a variety of sizes, either using them to make pictures or turning them into keyrings.

Today in Cooking Club, the children made delicious quesadillas using Mexican-style wraps. First, the children peeled mushrooms and peppers and chopped them into chunks. They then added the vegetables and onions to canned tomatoes and Quorn chicken, along with some seasoning. The mixture was cooked on the stove until everything was soft and full of flavour. This week at Cooking Club we baked delicious cookies using a simple homemade recipe. The children carefully measured the ingredients, mixed the dough, and shaped their own cookies before baking them. The recipe included: - 125g butter - 100g sugar - 1 egg - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 200g self-raising flour - 100g chocolate chips After mixing the butter and sugar, the children added the egg and vanilla, then stirred in the flour and chocolate chips. Over the next few weeks in Wool Craft Club, we will be learning how to make colourful pom poms using wool. Once the children have created a collection of pom poms, they will design and make their own wool craft piece. They can choose to join their pom poms together to create a 3D design, or attach them to card to create a textured picture. We’re looking forward to seeing their creativity shine!

This week in Cooking Club, they made their own super easy hummus by following the recipe step by step. They gathered all the ingredients and used the food processor to blend the chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and sesame oil. They carefully added some of the chickpea liquid to make the hummus smooth and creamy. They then cut up fresh peppers, cucumber, carrots and pitta bread to taste with their hummus. They enjoyed preparing the vegetables and were exc
