Cooking Club: Super Easy Hummus

This week in Cooking Club, they made their own super easy hummus by following the recipe step by step. They gathered all the ingredients and used the food processor to blend the chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and sesame oil. They carefully added some of the chickpea liquid to make the hummus smooth and creamy.
They then cut up fresh peppers, cucumber, carrots and pitta bread to taste with their hummus. They enjoyed preparing the vegetables and were excited to try everything they had made.
Some staff also tasted the hummus and gave very positive feedback. We even had a member of staff judge the presentation of the dish, looking at how neatly they had prepared and arranged their food.
This was a great activity to help them learn about healthy eating. They discovered that hummus is a delicious and healthy way to enjoy vegetables, helping to encourage healthier food choices in a fun and practical way.
