Cooking Club: Super Easy Hummus
This week in Cooking Club, they made their own super easy hummus by following the recipe step by step. They gathered all the ingredients and used the food processor to blend the chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and sesame oil. Healthy Eating Workshop
Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic healthy eating workshop with the school nurses this week. 🥗 The children learnt about the Eatwell Plate and how it helps us to understand the different food groups our bodies need to stay healthy. Teamwork in our Secret Garden!
Children have been having a wonderful time improving our Secret Garden. They have worked incredibly hard to help tidy and care for the space, showing great enthusiasm and responsibility. A Scientific Look at Toothpaste in Year 4!
This week, Year 4 became dental detectives! Our science investigation focused on how brushing helps reduce tooth decay and whether different toothpastes have different properties. We began by learning what tooth decay is and what causes it. The children carried out a hands-on investigation comparing a range of toothpastes. Safer Internet Day
Today, School council kicked off our Safer Internet Day 2026 with an assembly. They talked about this year's theme - the safe use of artificial intelligence. School council shared with the school why we are taking part in Safer Internet Day, when we might use AI in our day-to-day lives, and also told the school what to do when things go wrong when using artificial intelligence and who to talk to. A Thoughtful Visit to Year 4
Year 4 Our lovely visitor from this morning’s assembly stayed on to spend time with Year 4, where the children took part in a thoughtful and engaging question-and-answer session. They asked insightful questions about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), learning about the influence he has and why he is so important to Muslims. The children listened carefully and showed great curiosity and respect as they deepened their understanding of Islam.

ECO Ambassadors Launch Battery Recycling Bin!
In the ECO Ambassadors’ first meeting of the academic year, they discussed new ways we can recycle more and reduce waste in school. One idea the children were particularly enthusiastic about was introducing a battery recycling bin — and they went ahead and ordered one themselves! Now, any used batteries we have in school will be placed in the battery bin provided. Batteries should not go into general waste, as they are a fire hazard in bin lorries and at landfill sites.

Little Chefs Cook Up a Healthy Spaghetti Bolognese
Cooking Club made a healthy spaghetti bolognese this week. The children peeled mushrooms and finely chopped them, along with peppers, before adding them to chopped tomatoes. They learnt how to hold vegetables correctly and how to cut them safely. Quorn mince was added to the sauce, and the spaghetti was carefully boiled. Year 3 Litter Picking Champions
Children in Year 3 have been taking great care of their school community by helping to keep our grounds clean and tidy. Armed with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the children worked together to collect rubbish and make a positive difference to their environment. This activity helped pupils understand the importance of looking after shared spaces and taking responsibility for their surroundings. Pizza, Teamwork and Fun in Cooking Club!
A great start to Cooking Club this spring term for Years 5 and 6! The children made healthy pizzas by spreading tomato purée onto wraps and adding a range of toppings, including mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn, ham and pepperoni. They practised cutting vegetables carefully and safely, worked well together, and showed responsibility by helping with washing up and cleaning the tables afterwards. It was a slice of fun and a really topping start to the term! 🍕
