Today was our first Forest School session of the year, and it was a huge success, enjoyed by everyone involved! We began by discussing our Forest School boundaries and agreeing on a group call to bring everyone back to the fire circle. Year 6 have been very lucky to take part in an emotional health roadshow, that was run by the nurses. We discussed transitions to secondary school and how we can manage our feelings and develop resilience during this time. We discussed how we can prepare ourselves for this over the next few months and who can help us. We also played a fact/myth game. It was a very informative and enjoyable afternoon for all.

Year 5 enjoyed welcoming visiting nurses into school to talk about puberty. The nurses explained the changes that can happen as we grow up in a clear, age-appropriate and understanding way, helping children to learn about the physical and emotional changes they may experience. The session encouraged thoughtful discussions and gave pupils the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive and informative environment.

Today, we were delighted to welcome Pastor Eki Gabriel from Elite Church in Tipton to lead a special Harvest assembly for our children. This week, the children started painting the Christmas tree decorations that they made from salt dough last week. After leaving their creations to set and air dry, they were ready to add some colour! Today, our School Council, Head Boy and Head Girl and deputies met up and took part in some school council training. We discussed what it means to be a leader and shared our ideas with other school councils. We talked about how we can deliver an engaging assembly and what we need to do to prepare for an assembly. We got lots of ideas for different assemblies we could lead including telling a story, running a quiz, talking about important world events and talking about safety.

Children enjoyed a very important water safety assembly delivered by a lifeguard from our local swimming pool. The assembly taught children how to stay safe in and around water, particularly during the warmer months when more people visit rivers, lakes, canals, and other open water areas.
