This week in Cooking Club, they made their own super easy hummus by following the recipe step by step. They gathered all the ingredients and used the food processor to blend the chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and sesame oil. Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic healthy eating workshop with the school nurses this week. 🥗 The children learnt about the Eatwell Plate and how it helps us to understand the different food groups our bodies need to stay healthy. They explored how fruits and vegetables should make up a large part of our meals, why carbohydrates give us energy, how protein helps our bodies grow and repair, and why dairy supports strong bones and teeth. Children have been having a wonderful time improving our Secret Garden. They have worked incredibly hard to help tidy and care for the space, showing great enthusiasm and responsibility. It has been fantastic to see their teamwork in action. The children supported one another, shared tools sensibly and worked together to complete different tasks. We are so proud of their positive attitudes, cooperation and the effort they put into improving our special outdoor space!

Children’s Mental Health Week provides an important chance to reflect on how we all look after our mental and emotional health. Throughout the week, children have taken part in activities linked to wellbeing, self-expression, and understanding what helps them feel grounded and supported. This week, Year 4 became dental detectives! Our science investigation focused on how brushing helps reduce tooth decay and whether different toothpastes have different properties. We began by learning what tooth decay is and what causes it. The children carried out a hands-on investigation comparing a range of toothpastes. Today, School council kicked off our Safer Internet Day 2026 with an assembly. They talked about this year's theme - the safe use of artificial intelligence. School council shared with the school why we are taking part in Safer Internet Day, when we might use AI in our day-to-day lives, and also told the school what to do when things go wrong when using artificial intelligence and who to talk to. This was just the beginning of our day - classes also took part in a live lesson

Thank you to our wonderful wellbeing ambassadors for leading this mornings assembly. They introduced Children’s Mental Health Week and explained why looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health. Year 4 ​ Our lovely visitor from this morning’s assembly stayed on to spend time with Year 4, where the children took part in a thoughtful and engaging question-and-answer session. They asked insightful questions about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), learning about the influence he has and why he is so important to Muslims. The children listened carefully and showed great curiosity and respect as they deepened their understanding of Islam.

Year 3 children are doing their part to keep the school grounds clean! They were out on another litter-picking adventure, working together to ensure our school community remains tidy and inviting.

In the ECO Ambassadors’ first meeting of the academic year, they discussed new ways we can recycle more and reduce waste in school. One idea the children were particularly enthusiastic about was introducing a battery recycling bin — and they went ahead and ordered one themselves! Now, any used batteries we have in school will be placed in the battery bin provided. Batteries should not  go into general waste, as they are a fire hazard in bin lorries and at landfill sites.

Cooking Club made a healthy spaghetti bolognese this week. The children peeled mushrooms and finely chopped them, along with peppers, before adding them to chopped tomatoes. They learnt how to hold vegetables correctly and how to cut them safely. Quorn mince was added to the sauce, and the spaghetti was carefully boiled. The children really enjoyed the session, with one saying, “I thought it was a great session because I’ve never made one before,” and another commenting, “I w

Children in Year 3 have been taking great care of their school community by helping to keep our grounds clean and tidy. Armed with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the children worked together to collect rubbish and make a positive difference to their environment. This activity helped pupils understand the importance of looking after shared spaces and taking responsibility for their surroundings. They showed excellent teamwork and a real sense of pride in their school

A great start to Cooking Club this spring term for Years 5 and 6! The children made healthy pizzas by spreading tomato purée onto wraps and adding a range of toppings, including mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn, ham and pepperoni. They practised cutting vegetables carefully and safely, worked well together, and showed responsibility by helping with washing up and cleaning the tables afterwards. It was a slice of fun and a really topping start to the term! 🍕

Our recent school trip to Safeside Birmingham, run by the West Midlands Fire Service, was an unforgettable and eye-opening experience for our children.
