Thank you to our wonderful wellbeing ambassadors for leading this mornings assembly. They introduced Children’s Mental Health Week and explained why looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health. The slides helped pupils understand what mental health is, how it can affect our feelings, thoughts and behaviour, and simple ways we can look after our wellbeing, such as getting enough sleep, spending time with others, being kind and doing activities we enjoy.
The assembly explored this year’s theme, ‘This Is My Place’, encouraging pupils to think about where they feel they belong and why feeling included and supported is important for our wellbeing. Pupils reflected on nurturing and inclusive environments, the positive effects of belonging, and the role of support networks and trusted adults. The assembly concluded by reminding everyone that we all deserve a place where we feel safe, valued and able to be ourselves, and that we can all help others to feel included.
