We were delighted to welcome such a fantastic turnout of parents and carers to support our Year 4 children during their Harvest Assembly. We were delighted to welcome the Sandwell Mobile Library Service to Tipton Green Junior School! Our Year 3 and Year 4 children really enjoyed exploring the fantastic selection of books available. They had the exciting opportunity to choose a book to loan and bring back into school. The children will keep their chosen book in school and enjoy reading it as part of their morning activity. Year 6 have been very lucky to take part in an emotional health roadshow, that was run by the nurses. We discussed transitions to secondary school and how we can manage our feelings and develop resilience during this time. We discussed how we can prepare ourselves for this over the next few months and who can help us. We also played a fact/myth game. It was a very informative and enjoyable afternoon for all.

Year 5 enjoyed welcoming visiting nurses into school to talk about puberty. The nurses explained the changes that can happen as we grow up in a clear, age-appropriate and understanding way, helping children to learn about the physical and emotional changes they may experience. The session encouraged thoughtful discussions and gave pupils the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive and informative environment.

Children enjoyed a very important water safety assembly delivered by a lifeguard from our local swimming pool. The assembly taught children how to stay safe in and around water, particularly during the warmer months when more people visit rivers, lakes, canals, and other open water areas. The lifeguard explained the dangers of swimming in open water and shared practical advice on what to do in an emergency. Children learned about the importance of only swimming in supervised

Despite the rainy weather, we had a lovely turnout for our Coffee Morning at Tipton Green. Parents enjoyed a selection of delicious cakes while having the opportunity to chat, connect with others, and spend time together in a welcoming environment. We were also pleased to welcome members of the Eat Well Team and the Family Support Hub, who spoke with parents and shared valuable information, advice, and support available to families. Today, two school nurses set up an informative and interactive sun safety stand in the school playground to provide help, advice, and support to children and parents about staying safe in the sun. The colourful display attracted lots of interest and helped raise awareness about the importance of protecting skin during the warmer months. The Tipton Green Junior School Local History Fayre is a community event celebrating 50 years of memories connected to Tipton Green Junior School from 1976–2026. Organised by the Tipton Town Libraries Local History Group, the event invites former pupils, families, friends, and sports team members to share photographs, memories, and stories from their time at the school. Visitors are encouraged to bring along old pictures and reminisce about classroom moments, sporting achievem

The competition is open to current and former pupils of the school. Entrants must write a poem about school or schooldays. Poems can be in any style, including dialect, and must be no more than 20 lines long. There is a £50 first prize, and some poems will be published in a book later in the year. The closing date for entries is 30 June 2026. Entry forms are available from our school, Tipton Library or by emailing robert26hazel@gmail.com

Our wonderful Wellbeing Ambassadors proudly showcased their day at the SHAPE event. It was fantastic to see them confidently and enthusiastically sharing their experiences and the valuable information they learned.

The Black Country Local History Fayre is taking place on Saturday 6th June 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Tipton Sports Academy & Social Club (Wednesbury Oak Road, Tipton, DY4 0BS). ⭐ A special highlight for our school community: There will be a collection of unseen historical photographs from Tipton Green Junior School. This is a fantastic opportunity for children and families to spot familiar places, learn about the school’s past, and make links with their local history. O

After school, Mrs Handford met with two members of the Tipton History Society to share photographs of Tipton Green Junior School from across the years. The group will be selecting some of these images to display at Tipton Library as part of a special exhibition celebrating 50 years at the school’s current location. Originally established in 1880, the school moved to its present site on Park Lane West in 1976, alongside Park Lane Infant School. It later underwent significant i
