Remembering the Fallen – A Special Poppy Memorial
The children of Tipton Green Junior School have been involved in a very special project in collaboration with Tipton Town Local Libraries History Group.
Together, they have helped to create a beautiful poppy memorial dedicated to the Tipton men who lost their lives during the First World War (1914–1918).
Each poppy is accompanied by a handwritten label, carefully prepared by the children, helping to remember and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Behind every name is a story, a family and a life that should never be forgotten.
The display is a wonderful way of bringing local history to life, allowing the children to develop a greater understanding of the history of their community and the importance of remembrance.
We are incredibly proud of the children for playing their part in such a meaningful project. Their contribution has helped create a lasting tribute to the people of Tipton and ensured that their memories continue to live on.
The memorial is now on display at Tipton Library, and we would encourage families and members of the local community to visit and take a look at this very special tribute.
Thank you to Tipton Town Local Libraries History Group for giving our children the opportunity to be involved in such a meaningful project.
We will remember them. ❤️
