So proud of our Year 5 artists! After working incredibly hard in their Banksy-inspired unit, they loved sharing their fantastic work.

Children’s Mental Health Week provides an important chance to reflect on how we all look after our mental and emotional health. Throughout the week, children have taken part in activities linked to wellbeing, self-expression, and understanding what helps them feel grounded and supported. Today, School council kicked off our Safer Internet Day 2026 with an assembly. They talked about this year's theme - the safe use of artificial intelligence. School council shared with the school why we are taking part in Safer Internet Day, when we might use AI in our day-to-day lives, and also told the school what to do when things go wrong when using artificial intelligence and who to talk to. This was just the beginning of our day - classes also took part in a live lesson

Children in Year 5 were asked to recreate the texture and impression of a wall on a polystyrene tile, which they then printed into their books. This activity links with the next lesson, where they will build on their work by adding a further piece of artwork inspired by the style of Banksy. The children used printing ink to create their prints, experimenting carefully with texture and pattern.

Year 5 have started their art topic for spring term looking at the graffiti artist Banksy. We studied a range of his artworks, sketched them then completed a critical analysis.

A great start to Cooking Club this spring term for Years 5 and 6! The children made healthy pizzas by spreading tomato purée onto wraps and adding a range of toppings, including mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn, ham and pepperoni. They practised cutting vegetables carefully and safely, worked well together, and showed responsibility by helping with washing up and cleaning the tables afterwards. It was a slice of fun and a really topping start to the term! 🍕

Year 3 Year 4 Children in Year 5 created paper chains with how to be kind on them and they also created a Grinch bauble as a keepsake. They were successful in their attempts to warm up the heart of the Grinch as he bought their presents in the afternoon. Year 6 Children in Year 6 created some Grinch digital art and made a Grinch keepsake!

This afternoon, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 all took part in an exciting book swap session full of stories, discussion and a real love of reading. The children paired up across year groups and took turns sharing their books, listening carefully as their partners read aloud with expression and confidence. Year 5 have also taken part in an exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workshop that brought together creativity, teamwork and plenty of hands-on learning. Pupils were challenged to design and build their very own robots using Lego—before putting them to the test in a tricky maze challenge! Once the building was complete, the real test began: programming. Using simple coding tools, the children learned how to give their robots precise instructions,

Year 5 had great fun making pasta as part of their DT project! They carefully and accurately measured and prepared their ingredients, showing fantastic attention to detail. Using a range of gadgets and utensils, the children cut, shaped, and combined their dough with growing confidence. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity shine throughout the activity.

Our recent school trip to Safeside Birmingham, run by the West Midlands Fire Service, was an unforgettable and eye-opening experience for our children.
