This week, our children took part in a special assembly led by the NSPCC about the importance of staying safe and speaking out.
During the session, the children were introduced to Buddy, the NSPCC’s friendly green mascot. Buddy is shaped like a speech bubble to remind us that it’s always important to speak out if we ever have any worries or if something doesn’t feel right.
The assembly helped everyone understand that all children have the right to:
Speak out and have their views taken seriously
Be kept safe
Get help when they need it
We also listened to a story about Sam, which showed how important it is to talk to someone you trust when you have a worry. The story helped us think about who we can go to for help and how speaking out can make a big difference.
