Children have been having a wonderful time improving our Secret Garden. They have worked incredibly hard to help tidy and care for the space, showing great enthusiasm and responsibility. It has been fantastic to see their teamwork in action. The children supported one another, shared tools sensibly and worked together to complete different tasks. We are so proud of their positive attitudes, cooperation and the effort they put into improving our special outdoor space!

Children’s Mental Health Week provides an important chance to reflect on how we all look after our mental and emotional health. They are becoming much more confident in holding the instrument correctly, remembering their rest position and playing (mount) position independently. Some of our children have been learning to play the violin and have been fascinated by the new skills they are developing. They learned how to hold the violin correctly in rest position and mount position, and practised a piece called “Pepperoni Pizza,” which uses notes that go up in pitch. They worked hard to play in time and together, listening carefully to one another and showing excellent focus and teamwork.

Year 4 ​ Our lovely visitor from this morning’s assembly stayed on to spend time with Year 4, where the children took part in a thoughtful and engaging question-and-answer session. They asked insightful questions about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), learning about the influence he has and why he is so important to Muslims. The children listened carefully and showed great curiosity and respect as they deepened their understanding of Islam.

On Friday 12th December, our drama club had a fantastic afternoon at Sandwell college. We had front-row seats to a pantomime of Alice in Wonderland, performed by the performing arts students studying there. It was funny, silly and made us laugh out loud! We were amazed at the costumes and very excited to be in a real theatre and loved getting involved in the audience participation parts of the show. We even got to have a photo with Alice at the end!

Class 12 had a fantastic time visiting Haden Hill House! The students fully immersed themselves in the experience, enjoying activities like role play, dressing up in historical costumes, and experiencing what it was like to be evacuated to the countryside. They even tried shopping with a ration book, giving them a real taste of life during the war. It was a memorable and educational day, and a wonderful time was had by all!

Our recent school trip to Safeside Birmingham, run by the West Midlands Fire Service, was an unforgettable and eye-opening experience for our children. Year 3 went back in time on Tuesday 21st October to the Stone Age! On our trip to Tanglewood, Year 3 got to experience life as a real Stone Age hunter-gatherer. We first got to see how a real Stone Age person would have dressed and what they would have looked like. Then,  we got to create our own tribes and had to survive a day in the life! Tuesday 14th October 2025 Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Hockerhill Play Barn, where they took part in a hands-on session learning how to make pizza dough — a fun and practical introduction to their next Design and Technology topic: bread-making.
