Monday 22nd September
As part of Recycling Week, Tipton Green welcomed a visitor from Litterwatch to speak to the children about the importance of looking after our local environment and the vital role recycling plays in keeping it clean and sustainable.
During the session, we learnt that Sandwell Council has introduced a new blue bag to recycle paper and card separately. We also explored the different types of bins and their purposes:
Food waste bins – used for composting
Green bins – for recycling plastic and bottles
General waste bins – for non-recyclable items
The children discovered how recycling more and reducing general waste helps prevent items from ending up in landfill, which benefits the environment in many ways.
