VE Day Celebrations!

May 8th 2025

This morning, all the children took part in a special assembly to learn about VE Day as we mark its 80th anniversary. As part of the commemoration, we held a minute’s silence to reflect on the sacrifices made and to honour those who lived through the war. The display outside is now complete, and both parents and children are welcome to take photos to remember this important occasion. This afternoon, the children expressed their creativity through a range of inspiring art activities. They chose to paint or draw a lively VE Day street party scene filled with bunting, dancing, and joyful crowds; designed a wartime-style propaganda poster celebrating victory and unity; created a collage of memories using images, newspaper clippings, and symbols related to VE Day; or designed a large-scale mural that captures the spirit of VE Day and its historical significance.
