⭐ Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) Parent Meeting ⭐
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) meeting. It was lovely to see so many of you taking an interest in supporting your child's learning.
During the meeting, we explored what the MTC involves, how we prepare children in school and the different ways parents can support times table fluency at home. Parents even had the opportunity to put their own times table knowledge to the test!
Our Year 4 children also joined the meeting, giving them the opportunity to show their parents and carers how to access the online resources and demonstrate how they work. Families were able to have a go together, explore the home learning packs, look through the MTC recording books and try out some of the times table games. This gave everyone a chance to become familiar with the resources before taking them home.
We hope you found the session enjoyable and informative and came away with some useful ideas to support your child at home.
For parents and carers who were unable to attend, we have shared the presentation slides so you can look through the information discussed during the meeting.
📚 Home Learning Resources
All Year 4 children have taken home their MTC learning packs today. These include a range of resources to make practising times tables fun and engaging, including revision books, times table card games and MTC recording books.
We also shared useful online resources, including Times Tables Rock Stars, MathsFrame and BBC Bitesize, which children can use to develop their speed, accuracy and confidence.
🌟 Don't Forget Your MTC Recording Book!
We encourage all children to complete regular times table activities at home and record their practice in their MTC recording book.
Every time your child completes five activities, whether that's practising online, using their revision book or playing the card games included in their pack, please make sure these are recorded in their book.
For every five activities completed and recorded, children will earn a sticker and have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes! 🏆
Remember, just five minutes of practice a day can make a big difference! Little and often is the key to building confidence and improving times table fluency.
If you were unable to attend the meeting or have any questions about the MTC or the resources provided, please speak to your child's class teacher, who will be happy to help.
Thank you once again for your continued support. By working together, we can help our children become confident mathematicians! 🌟
