A Simple Baking Success!

Today we made shortbread using just three ingredients: plain flour, caster sugar, and unsalted butter. After carefully measuring each ingredient, we used our hands to knead the mixture together. We talked about how important it is to use the correct measurements when following a recipe.
Once the dough was ready, we scored the top with a fork and sprinkled a little extra sugar over it. Then we popped it into the oven — and soon the whole room was filled with the lovely smell of freshly baked shortbread!
