Summer 2026 - Issue 14

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

As always, it has been a busy two weeks here at Tipton Green; clubs have begun and learning continues to flourish in all the classrooms, from caterpillars in Year 5 to the Ancient Egyptians in Year 3!

We would like to wish all of our Year 6 pupils the very best of luck as they take their SATs next week. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, determination and resilience they have shown throughout the year in preparing for these assessments.

We know that they will approach the week with confidence and a positive attitude, and we will be on hand to support them every step of the way. Parents and carers can support at home by ensuring children get plenty of rest, have a good breakfast each morning and arrive at school on time.

Well done, Year 6 – we believe in you!

Tickets for our upcoming school disco are now available to purchase on Arbor. This is a new event and a lovely opportunity for children to celebrate with their friends. Please see the information below for full details, including timings for the evening. We look forward to seeing lots of children there for what promises to be a fun-filled event!

Have a lovely weekend

Attendance Matters

At our school, we know that every day of learning truly counts. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in helping children achieve their full potential - both academically and socially. When pupils are in school consistently, they build strong learning habits, develop positive routines, and engage fully with lessons, friendships, and the wider school community.

Thank you for your continued support in helping all our children enjoy a successful and positive school experience.

Year 6 SATs Week

Dear Year 6!

You have worked so hard and both myself and all your teachers at Tipton Green, have been so impressed with your attitude towards your learning throughout the year. It has been a privilege to see the progress you have made and your determination to reach all your goals. Whatever the results may be, know that we are so proud of you! Not just for your learning, but for all your many talents that we have seen grow and develop throughout your time at Tipton Green Junior School.

Over the weekend make sure that you have a break, get lots of rest and enjoy time with your families. Remember you are all superstars!

Mrs Richards and the whole of Tipton Green

Network Rail Day

On Monday 18th May, all pupils across school will be taking part in Network Rail Day, a day designed to teach pupils about safety around our railway lines. Throughout the day, pupils will learn about risks around the railway, recognising signs and explaining why safety rules are in place.

With children living so close to local railway networks, this is an extremely important and valuable understanding to have.

School Uniform

From September 2026, the PE uniform will change to a plain black hoodie instead of the maroon hoodie due to the difficulties families are having buying the maroon hoodie. As we are aware that some families will not need to replace hoodies yet, pupils are still able to wear maroon hoodies for the next academic year as part of a transition period. Branded hoodies with the school logo can still be purchased from www.crestedschoolwear.co.uk

Can I also remind families that pupils should be wearing plain, black joggers and not leggings as part of the PE uniform.

There are NO CHANGES to our normal school uniform. Please see below for a summary of our full uniform.

Thank you for your ongoing support with ensuring pupils are smart and ready to learn.

Sun Safety in School

As we move into the warmer months, we would like to remind families of the importance of sun safety in school. On sunny days, children are encouraged to bring a named sun hat to wear during playtimes and outdoor activities, and to have a water bottle in school so they can stay well hydrated throughout the day. We also ask that suntan lotion is applied at home before school; if children need to reapply during the day, this should be labelled and children should be able to apply it themselves where appropriate. By working together, we can help ensure everyone stays safe, comfortable and able to enjoy the sunshine responsibly. Fingers crossed the warm weather continues this term!

Sporting Success!

Cricket

A very excited group of Year 3 and 4 headed to Holly Lodge High to represent Tipton Green. We impressed during the warm-ups and were even asked to demonstrate to other schools how to play cricket and explain the match criteria. The children worked incredibly hard, playing game after game and enjoying every minute. They listened attentively to every instruction, which helped us win every match in our group stage.

We comfortably won the semi-final, heading into the final brimming with confidence. Our batting, bowling, fielding, and teamwork were all outstanding, contributing to a well-deserved tournament victory. As a result of this hard work, the team are now through to the County Finals!

Mini Marathon

All the children in school showed great perseverance last week when taking part in the tsc Mini Marathon ahead of the London Marathon. Whether they walked, jogged or sprinted, everyone pushed themselves to achieve some personal bests! Well done everyone!

Tipton Green Football

Our boys football team have been playing incredibly well winning their last two games to put them into the quarter finals next week! What an achievement already!

School Disco!!

We are excited to announce that this term we will be hosting a Summer Disco for all pupils! Tickets will go on sale soon at the price of £1.50.
