Autumn 2026 - Issue 4

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

What a half term we have had! From football tournaments to celebrating mental health day, we have had a fun packed first few weeks of the term.

The learning which has been taking place has impressed us all and I hope you were able to join us for parents evening this week for an opportunity to discuss your children with their class teacher. If you were unable to attend, please contact the school office and we will be more than happy to arrange an alternative meeting with you. It is important to us that we work in collaboration with our families to ensure the very best for everyone.

Over the past two weeks, we also welcomed parents into school for a Year 4 and Year 6 meeting to look at the Multiplication Timestable Check and Year 6 SATs in more detail. Thank you to those families who were able to join us; it was valuable to answer any concerns and show you exactly how we tackle these statutory tests. If you were not able to attend the meetings, please head to the school website for the slides:

We hope you have a lovely break over the half term and look forward to even more learning in November and December.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Maths Support

The children are working hard in maths, applying the skills they learn each week to their new learning. Maths can be a daunting subject and we appreciate lots of our families are keen to help and support their children at home. There are lots of useful links to support on our website Maths page as well as information about what your children will be learning each year. We hope you find it useful, however we also welcome any suggestions as to how we can improve this support further. If you have anything you would like to discuss, please speak to class teachers who will be more than happy to help.

Sport at Tipton Green

We have been lucky to be able to take pupils to a special Sandwell event recently: No to Racism. Children from across the borough came together to play, showing a unity and community spirit which was inspiring. Our girls also inspired us through their brilliant win against Burnt Tree! Well done girls!

🎶 Join Our School Choir! 🎶

We are looking for more pupils to join our fantastic school choir as we prepare for a very special performance at the Sandwell Council House Christmas Celebration on the morning of Thursday 10th December.

This is a wonderful opportunity for children to perform in the prestigious Council Chambers and spread some festive cheer. Last year's event was a huge success, with both children and adults being thoroughly spoiled with drinks, delicious snacks, and even a special visit from Santa! 🎅

Choir rehearsals take place every Monday after school (3:15-4:00). If your child already attends an after-school club, don't worry. We will also be holding rehearsals at lunchtime in the Dance Studio so that everyone who would like to take part can join us - more details to follow about the time and days the lunchtime rehearsals will take place.

Whether your child loves singing, enjoys performing, or would simply like to try something new, we would love to welcome them to the choir.

Come and be part of this exciting festive event and help fill the Council Chambers with the sound of Christmas! 🎄🎵

For more information, please speak to Mrs Favata or Mrs Southall. We look forward to welcoming lots of new singers!

Culture Day

We are proud of the diversity at Tipton Green! On Friday 6th November, we will be having a Culture Day in school, with pupils taking part in a wide range of activities which celebrates all our pupils. As part of this day, children will be taking part in workshops including art, cooking, dance and much more.

We would love to include as much of our local community as possible in this event. If you are aware of anyone or a local group who would be able to support any of these workshops please speak to the school office who will inform the team of staff organising this event.

Safeguarding - Fidgets and Squishes

Just a reminder that pupils should not be bringing their own fidget toys, squishes or other toys including cards into school.

Whilst we understand that children enjoy sharing their special belongings with friends, we cannot guarantee that these items will not be lost, misplaced or damaged during the school day. Bringing personal items can also sometimes cause distractions in the classroom, or disagreements on the playground.

We are also aware that there are some items currently on the market that have been causing serious injuries if broken, therefore we would be grateful for your co-operation in ensuring all our pupils are safe.
