Autumn 2026 - Issue 1
Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
We would like to extend a very warm welcome back to all of our pupils and families as we begin another exciting school year at Tipton Green Junior School. We hope you all enjoyed a happy and restful summer break and are ready for the year ahead.
A special welcome goes to all of the new children and families joining our school community this year. We are delighted to have you with us and look forward to working together to ensure your children thrive and achieve their very best.
We would also like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Miss Gilmore, who got married over the summer holidays and is now Mrs Southall. We wish her every happiness as she begins this exciting new chapter.
It has been wonderful to see the children return to school with such enthusiasm. They have settled quickly into their new classes and routines, and we have been incredibly impressed with their excellent behaviour, positive attitudes and eagerness to learn. The mature and respectful way they have approached the start of the term reflects our school values and has made us all very proud.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a successful year filled with success in learning and memorable experiences for all of our children.

Understanding School Attendance – Every Day Matters
At Tipton Green Junior School, we are committed to ensuring every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed. Excellent attendance is a key factor in achieving this, as even small amounts of absence have a significant impact on learning.
Why Attendance Matters
Every lesson counts. Children who attend school regularly:
· Make better progress academically
· Develop stronger friendships
· Build positive routines and habits
· Feel more confident and secure
Even occasional days off can add up quickly, leading to gaps in learning that are difficult to close.
How you can help:
· Ensure you child attends school every day unless they are genuinely unwell
· Book appointments outside of school hours where possible
· Avoid holidays during term time
· Communicate with the school if you are experiencing difficulties

Let’s Get to the Root of It!
Year 4 have been getting active in their Science learning, creating their own set of teeth! They loved being able look at their own teeth in mirrors, learning the purpose of the different types of teeth. Fantastic scientists and dentists in the making. Clubs
Staff in school are looking forward to leading free extra-curricular this term in order to provide wider opportunities for all pupils in school. Further information about these clubs will be sent out on Monday so please keep an eye on your emails.
Culture Day
We are proud of the diversity at Tipton Green! On Friday 6th November, we will be having a Culture Day in school, with pupils taking part in a wide range of activities which celebrates all our pupils. As part of this day, children will be taking part in workshops including art, cooking, dance and much more.
We would love to include as much of our local community as possible in this event. If you are aware of anyone or a local group who would be able to support any of these workshops please speak to the school office who will inform the team of staff organising this event.
End of School Arrangements
In order to keep all children safe at the end of the school day, please remain behind the cones on the playground to give staff enough room to clearly see all adults. This allows us to return pupils to families quickly and safely.
If you have completed the appropriate forms in order for your children to walk home alone or to a meeting point, please ensure that you speak to them about safety on the streets as well as walking home straight away.
We ask that bikes, scooters and play equipment are not ridden or played on at the beginning and end of the day while on the school site. Due to the high levels of people and young children on site, this helps us to keep everyone safe.

School Uniform 2026 2027
Thank you for ensuring the children have been coming to school smart and ready to learn. Please see below a reminder about our school uniform. As part of our Uniform Policy, pupils are able to wear a small pair of studs at school; please ensure that hoops are not worn. For Health and Safety, please take out earrings on PE days as they will not be able to take part with earrings in.
