Summer 2026 - Issue 16

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

It has been a busy if slightly soggy 2 weeks at Tipton Green Junior School, and we would like to begin by saying thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our recent coffee morning. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, share updates, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 pupils, who have approached their Multiplication Tables Check over the last two weeks, with great focus and determination. They have worked hard in the lead-up to this assessment, and their effort and resilience have truly shone through – well done, Year 4!

We were also delighted to welcome new families into school for our transition meeting today for pupils who will be joining us in September as our new Year 3 cohort. It was lovely to meet so many of you, and we are looking forward to supporting a smooth and exciting transition for all pupils as they begin their journey with us.

As always, we welcome feedback from our school community in order to make sure we continue to do the very best for all children. Pupils will be taking part in a school survey, expressing their views on all aspects of school life. We ask parents and families to do the same by accessing the Parent Survey before Friday 3rd July. Details for this can be found further down the newsletter.

Over the next couple of weeks, we have exciting events in school, including a trip to Parliament, the Y6 residential and our Father's Day event with lots of learning mixed in!

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Richards

Attendance Matters

At our school, we know that every day of learning truly counts. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in helping children achieve their full potential - both academically and socially. When pupils are in school consistently, they build strong learning habits, develop positive routines, and engage fully with lessons, friendships, and the wider school community.

Please can we remind families that upon collection or return to school of a child, confirmation of a medical appointment must be provided for the absence to be authorised.

Thank you for your continued support in helping all our children enjoy a successful and positive school experience.

Whole School Transition Morning

Wednesday 1st July 2026

On Wednesday 1st July, pupils across school will spend their morning in their new classrooms, meeting their new class teachers. This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to prepare for the next academic year.

Sports Day

Despite the rain this week, the pupils enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day event, showing amazing teamship. From the determination shown in the egg and spoon races, to the cooperation displayed in the team relays, every child gave their very best and supported one another with enthusiasm and respect.

We were especially proud of how children encouraged one another, demonstrating our ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ expectations and showing true resilience.

A huge thank you goes to all staff who worked hard to organise and run the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We are also very grateful to parents and carers who came along to support—your encouragement made the day even more special for the children.

Parent Survey

Every year we ask that you take time to complete a parent survey in order to provide us with vital information which can then be used to inform our school improvement plan.  This year, as last year, the questionnaire is an on-line survey, which enables families to access it quickly from personal devices such as mobile phones, laptops, IPads etc.

For these to be used most effectively, it is important that you answer the questions based on where you think the school is now, rather than the past. Positives are extremely important to us as this helps us know where you think we are doing well and any areas you feel could be improved so that we know any new actions we may need to take.  If you would like to explain any of your responses further, please use the box at the bottom of the questionnaire.

These surveys are anonymous and confidential, unless you would like a personal response from us. The survey will be activated from today and will be closed on Friday 3rd July 2026.

As always, we appreciate your support with these and the more responses we receive the more effective the data produced will be in enabling us to make further improvements.

The link below will be sent to families via a text to your mobile phones.  Please just click on the link to access the survey.  Alternatively, copy the link into your internet browser or use the QR code below.
