Learning About Ramadan and Eid

We were very lucky to welcome a special visitor into school who came to talk to the children about the upcoming Muslim celebrations of Ramadan and Eid. The visitor explained that Ramadan is a very important time for Muslims, when they fast, pray, show kindness to others and reflect on their actions.

The children were able to see some religious items such a prayer mat, and the visitor explained how it is used during daily prayers and why prayer is important in Islam. They also brought in a Ramadan calendar, which helps families keep track of the days of Ramadan and prepare for the celebration of Eid at the end.
