We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in school. The children came dressed as their favourite book characters, and it was fantastic to see so many creative costumes around the school. The classroom doors were also decorated as book covers, transforming the corridors into a colourful celebration of stories and favourite books.
Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of activities to share their love of reading. They enjoyed visiting other classes to share stories and spent time creating character descriptions inspired by their favourite books.
The children were also invited to bring in their favourite book from home, which gave them a great opportunity to recommend stories to their friends and talk about the books they enjoy reading.
Our Reading Ambassadors played an important role in helping to plan the celebrations. One of their ideas was to run a competition where children designed a wooden spoon as a character from a book. The creativity and effort put into the designs were amazing, and it was wonderful to see so many different characters brought to life.
It was a brilliant day celebrating books, stories, and the joy of reading!
