Year 6 Summer Fete: A Fun-filled Fundraiser for Our Leavers’ Fun Day!

What a fantastic summer afternoon it was at our Year 6 Summer Fete! The sun was shining, the laughter was bubbling, and the school grounds were transformed into a vibrant fairground filled with fun and excitement. This wonderful event was organised by our Year 6 students to raise funds for their upcoming Leavers’ Fun Day and it was an overwhelming success!

Thrilling Activities

Our fete was brimming with delightful activities, ensuring there was something for everyone. The children became entrepreneurs and created their own stalls, designed their own advertising campaign and even made some products to sell! Here are some of the highlights:

- Coconut Shy: Children and parents took their aim at the coconut shy, attempting to knock down those pesky coconuts for a prize. Cheers erupted from the crowd with every successful hit!

- Name the Teddy: This popular game had everyone guessing, with so many adorable teddies awaiting their names. Who knew we had such creative minds in Year 6?

- Tasty Treats - Tip Tops and Cakes Galore: Our cake stall and tip top stand was a true treat for the taste buds! Many generous parents and students contributed delicious homemade cakes, biscuits, and treats that were eagerly devoured throughout the day. The tip tops provided a refreshing treat to cool us down as the sun came out to play.

Soaking for a Smile

To add to the fun, our brave teachers willingly participated in the stocks, where students and parents took turns trying to hit the targets and soaking them with water! It was all in good spirit and created roars of laughter among everyone present. A big shoutout to our teachers for being such good sports!

A Heartfelt Thank You

A huge thank you goes out to all the children, parents, and carers for their generous donations and support. Your contributions made this event possible and turned it into an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. A special mention to the Year 6 parents who joined in the fun. Your enthusiasm and contributions truly made a difference.

Overall, the Year 6 Summer Fete was a resounding success and a wonderful way to kick off the preparations for the Leavers’ Fun Day. With all the money raised, we are one step closer to creating a memorable day for our Year 6 students as they prepare to transition to high school.
