Summer 2026 - Issue 15
Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
What a fantastic half term we have had, full of learning and fun! From Egyptian Day in Year 3, Fire Service visits in Year 4, butterflies in Year 5 and theme parks in Year 6, memories have been made.
I am now please to be able to share the outcomes of our recent Ofsted inspection which took place on 23rd – 24th March 2026.
Key Highlights from the Report:
Safeguarding: Met
Personal development and wellbeing: Strong standard
Achievement: Expected standard
Attendance and behaviour: Expected standard
Curriculum and teaching: Expected standard
Inclusion: Expected standard
Leadership and governance: Expected standard
‘Pupils enjoy coming to school because they feel welcomed and included. This sense of belonging helps pupils feel safe, secure and ready to learn each day. The school's values of ‘being ready, respectful and safe’ shape pupils’ conduct and support the positive relationships seen across the school.’
‘Pupils speak with enthusiasm about their lessons and the activities that make learning fun.’
‘Many parents speak with growing confidence about the school, often praising the care their children receive and the improvements they have seen.’
Inspectors were particularly impressed by our Personal development and well-being, giving this a Strong Standard; ‘Pupils benefit from a comprehensive personal development programme that helps them become confident and well-rounded individuals.’
I am incredibly proud of our staff and pupils for their hard work and dedication to Tipton Green Junior School. Their commitment, over the last few years, to our school improvement drive, bringing about change to ensure all pupils leave our school ready for the next stage of their education, is second to none. It is clear to see the positive impact of this collective effort in the classrooms, around the school, and in the attitudes and achievements of our children each day.
I would also like to thank all parents and carers for your continued support and encouragement. The strong partnership between home and school plays a vital role in our success, and we are grateful for the trust and collaboration you show us. Together, we are building a community where every child can dream, believe and be proud of all they can achieve! You can read the full report on our school website or by following the QR code below:

As we now move into the final half term of this school year, we continue to focus on school improvement. We still have so many things to look forward to in Summer 2, from trips to Leaver's performances. Have a lovely half term break and we will see all our pupils back in school on Tuesday 2nd June.
Enjoy the sunshine!

Attendance Matters
At our school, we know that every day of learning truly counts. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in helping children achieve their full potential - both academically and socially. When pupils are in school consistently, they build strong learning habits, develop positive routines, and engage fully with lessons, friendships, and the wider school community.
Thank you for your continued support in helping all our children enjoy a successful and positive school experience.

Year 6 - What an achievement!
A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils for their incredible hard work and determination throughout their SATs Week. You approached each day with focus, resilience, and maturity, truly reflecting all the values we are so proud of here at school. We know how much effort you have put into your learning this year, and the way you conducted yourselves during the tests was outstanding. Every single one of you should feel extremely proud of your achievements - what matters most is the effort and commitment you have shown, and you have all been fantastic role models.
As part of their celebrations, the children enjoyed a fun-filled day at Drayton Manor last Friday. Once again they pushed themselves to try out new things with bravery! Plans and preparations are now in full swing for their final performance at Tipton Green!
Disco
Thank you for your support of our Summer Disco yesterday. The children danced with their friends, and enjoyed glow sticks, tasty treats, and good music throughout the event. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter, fun, and fantastic dance moves from everyone involved. A great way to celebrate together!
Network Rail Day

On Monday, all pupils across school took part in our Network Rail Day learning important skills when they are out and about in our local community, or traveling on the trains.
One of our pupils commented;
"I have realised that I need to be more careful when I am travelling on the trains. Learning in class and talking to other pupils has made me think about my behaviour more"

Sporting Success!
Athletics
Eighteen pupils proudly represented Tipton Green in the Sports Hall Athletics competition, showing excellent teamwork and determination throughout the event. They competed in a range of races and field activities, giving their full effort in every challenge. Their hard work and positive attitude paid off, as they performed incredibly well against strong competition and secured an impressive second-place finish. The pupils demonstrated great sportsmanship and resilience, supporting each other and striving to do their best, making the school proud of their achievement.

Year 4 learn about Fire Safety
Year 4 children took part in an exciting SPARKS visit delivered by firefighters from the local fire station. The presentation focused on important fire and road safety messages in a fun and engaging way. During the session, the children watched a short film showing how quickly fire can spread and learned valuable information about smoke detectors, escape plans, emergency calls, fire hazards, and what to do if clothing catches fire using the “stop, drop and roll” technique. They also discussed pedestrian and in-car safety.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and were especially excited to have the opportunity to go inside the fire engine and explore the equipment. They listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and were enthusiastic throughout the session. It was a memorable experience that helped the children learn important safety skills in an interactive and enjoyable way.

Safety on site - E-scooters and bikes
Please can I remind pupils and adults that bikes and scooters must NOT be ridden while on any part of the school site - this includes the path down to the bike shed. This is to ensure the safety of all pupils and families both at Tipton Green Junior School and Silvertrees Academy.
Below is also some important information regarding the use of E-scooters which are illegal to be used on public roads and footpaths and should therefore not be used to bring pupils to school.

We thank you for your co-operation with this.
