Autumn 2025 - Issue 5

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

Welcome back to the second half of the autumn term. The past two weeks have already been busy and we have so many more exciting events to look forward to: Christmas Fair, Christmas Dinner and Jumper Day, Christmas concerts and more. Please see the calendar below and key dates for more information.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to Children in Need this year. Your generosity makes a real difference, and we are so proud of the kindness and support shown by our school community.

Year 5 had a fantastic time on their recent trip to Safeside. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed learning about many different areas of safety, from fire awareness to staying safe around canals and lakes. The trip was both educational and fun, and the children came away with valuable knowledge to help keep themselves and others safe.

Excitement is building as Year 6 prepare for their own trip in the next two weeks. We know they will gain just as much from the experience and look forward to hearing all about their visit.

This week we celebrated Kindness Week and Anti-bullying Week across the school beginning with Odd Sock Day on Monday. Our Wellbeing Ambassadors led a special assembly to highlight the importance of kindness in everyday life. Pupils reflected on how small acts of kindness can make a big difference, and we are proud of the thoughtful discussions and positive actions that took place.

Thank you once again for your continued support. Together, we are helping our pupils learn, grow, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Richards

Sporting News

Football

Our girls team played against Eaton Valley Primary School at the beginning of the week. They achieved a smashing result - 5-3! In Mr Coopers own words, 'they were unbelievable!' Well done girls, you represented our school so well and showed off the hard work you have all been putting into training.

EFL Football Tournament

On Wednesday, boys from Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a football tournament taking place at West Bromwich Albion Dome. They played their hearts out, battling through to the Semi-finals. Well done boys, a great achievement.

End of Day Arrangements!

To further support the safeguarding of all pupils at the end of the school day, we are introducing a small but important change to our dismissal routine.

As part of our new end-of-day procedure, we kindly ask that parents and carers stand behind the designated signs on the playground when collecting children. These signs will help create a clear and safe space for staff to dismiss pupils directly to their trusted adult.

This change is designed to:

  • Ensure staff can clearly see who each child is being collected by

  • Prevent overcrowding near classroom doors

  • Help children exit calmly and safely

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a secure and orderly environment for all pupils. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

Toys in School

Can we ask that children do not bring toys, playing cards or cuddly toys into school please. This is causing some upset when they are getting damaged or lost in school, and at times is distracting from learning taking place.

Thank you for your support with this.
