Spring 2025 - Issue
Dear Families,
Welcome back to school following our half term break. It was lovely to hear all the children’s news and find out what they had been up to.
It has been an exciting two weeks here at Tipton Green including our World Book Day celebrations this week; the costumes were fantastic and all the children took part in a poetry workshop with their year group as well as sharing their favourite stories with pupils from different year groups. Thank you for all your efforts and we hope they enjoyed their day.
Year 3 and Year 6 pupils went on school trips to the Black Country Museum and Cadbury World in the last two weeks. Their behaviour around the general pupil was exceptional and we couldn't be prouder of them. The links they made in their learning while on the trips gave all the pupils valuable experiences, bringing their learning to life.
We have so much more to look forward to this term, including Year 5's trip to Carding Mill Valley and Year 4's residential trip to Frank Chapman, Mother's Day and Easter celebrations.

Attendance
We track attendance weekly in school and monitor pupils attendance which is falling below 96%. We appreciate that the colder weather brings lots of cold and flu, however please consider Leave of Absence requests carefully and arrange a meeting with school before booking any time out of school during the term time. We want to ensure that we provide the best possible education we can and this starts with excellent attendance.
This week, our whole school attendance improved in every year group increasing it to 94.65%. Well done everyone!

Parents Evening
This term our parent consultations will take place on Wednesday 19th March and Thursday 20th March.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this opportunity to view your child's work as well as speak to their class teachers about the progress they have been making.
Comic Relief Day
On Friday 21st March, we will be joining the rest of the country in order to raise money for Comic Relief. For a donation of £1, we are asking pupils to come into school dressed in something red! This can be a whole outfit or a simple accessory, it is up to you!
Car Park at the start and end of the day
A polite reminder that parents should not be driving onto the school car park at the beginning and end of the day to drop off and pick up pupils. Some families have an agreed arrangement to pull onto the car park due to special circumstances however we ask that you park on the road if this is not the case. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that our school grounds and the surrounding community are safe and respectful to families and local residents.
Football Team
This week our boys football team played an exciting match against Woodgreen Primary School. Even though the final result did not go our way, Team Tipton scored some fantastic goals and gave it their best all the way to the end of the game! Fantastic sportsmanship was seen from all our players and we are so proud of them! Well done boys - keep up the hard work in training.
