Year 4 Sewing Skills in DT

In DT this week, Year 4 developed their sewing skills as part of their textiles project. They learned how to thread a needle, tie a knot, and sew a simple design onto the front of their cushion. Pupils were reminded to work carefully, safely, and take their time to produce neat stitching.

In the following lesson, pupils will sew the sides of their cushion together using a running stitch. They will then turn the cushion inside out to hide the seams and frayed edges. Once complete, they will stuff the cushion and add a button fastening to finish their product.
