Summer 2025 - Issue 13
Dear Families,
Welcome back to the summer term here at Tipton Green. I hope you all had a lovely Easter break, filled with lots of visits from the Easter bunny! There are many exciting events taking place this term including trips, sporting events and exciting learning in the classroom. It has been lovely to have Mrs Walters back working in Year 6 already and we are looking forward to Miss Boffey's return next week!
Before the end of term, Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic residential at the Frank Chapman centre. All the adults were so impressed with how independent ours pupils were, embracing the activities with bravery and determination. Both while we were there, and on our return, we received wonderful comments from the staff at the centre, who were impressed with how well behaved our children were; our three school rules, Respect, Ready and Safe really shone through - well done Year 4! We will be holding parent meetings after the half term to introduce our Y4 and Y6 residentials for next year. More information about these will be sent home soon.
Respectfulness continued to be a focus this week across the whole school with pupils marking the 80th anniversary of VE day through creative art lessons. In all year groups, pupils demonstrated a real understanding of the importance of this celebration, expressing this through their work.
Next week is an important week for Year 6 pupils as they take their SATs tests. We know how hard they have all worked for these tests and we are so proud of them all. Make sure you have a good rest over the weekend and recharge your batteries ready for Monday - good luck from all at Tipton Green Year 6!
Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine,
Mrs Richards
Attendance
We track attendance weekly in school and monitor pupils attendance which is falling below 96%. We appreciate that the colder weather brings lots of cold and flu, however please consider Leave of Absence requests carefully and arrange a meeting with school before booking any time out of school during the term time. We want to ensure that we provide the best possible education we can and this starts with excellent attendance.
This week, our whole school attendance is 94.5%. Well done everyone - Year 3 and 4 have improved their attendance again!
Year Group | % Attendance up to 09.05.25 |
Year 3 | 95.2% |
Year 4 | 93.7% |
Year 5 | 94.5% |
Year 6 | 94.1% |

Summer Clubs
Summer clubs have now started with pupils enjoying a wide range of different activities from skipping club, multi-sports and running to drama, art and choir! Why not have a read of our extra-curriculum tab on the school website to have a look at what the children have been up to. Click the button below to find out more.
Sun Safety
As the weather improves, please can you ensure that you send pupils into school with sun hats and suntan lotion. Unfortunately, due to the risk of allergic reactions, we are unable to provide pupils with suntan lotion and ask that you send this into school, labelled with your child's name. They will have to apply this themselves so please practice this over the holidays.
It is also important that pupils keep hydrated with water in the warmer weather. Water bottles should be plastic please, not metal and ideally not cups so that lids are secure.
Thank you for your understanding with this - long may the weather last.

Year 4 MTC
Year 4 have been working hard getting ready for their Multiplication Timestable Check which takes place in June. Click on the star below to find some useful websites to help support your child's timetables at home as well as other areas of maths.
We would love to see some of the amazing learning that does go on at home so please encourage your children to send in pictures or work that could be published here in our newsletter every two weeks.

Spotlight on Learning
One each newsletter we will be shining a spotlight on the learning that is taking place in each year group. Take a look at the work that these pupils have achieved recently. Well done everyone - super progress.
