Summer 2025 - Issue 16
Dear Families,
Thank you so much to everyone who came along to our Sports Days – it was wonderful to see so many of you there, cheering the children on and sharing in the fun. This year, we made some changes to the organisation of Sports Day to ensure that all pupils had the opportunity to take part in every event, and it was fantastic to see everyone involved and giving their best. We appreciate your support and understanding for these changes - the children thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the whole event. A big well done to all our pupils for their enthusiasm, effort, and brilliant team spirit!
Next week, our Year 3 children are off on their trip to the Think Tank, and we know they’re looking forward to a day full of discovery and hands-on learning.
And a special mention to our Year 6 pupils, who had a fantastic time on their reward trip to Drayton Manor last week. Their behaviour was absolutely excellent – a real credit to the school. Well done, Year 6!

Wishing you all a relaxing weekend,

Parent Survey
At Tipton Green Junior School, we are always working hard to ensure that the school continues its drive for school improvement in order to provide the best quality provision for your children. In order to help us to continue moving the school forward in these ever changing and difficult times, it is important that we take into account the opinions of other stakeholders in the school – children and their families.

Attendance
We track attendance weekly in school and monitor pupils attendance which is falling below 96%. Please consider Leave of Absence requests carefully and arrange a meeting with school before booking any time out of school during the term time. As we near the end of the school year, these last weeks are vital for learning before the children move up to the next year group as well as lots of exciting events such as trips and sports days. We want to ensure that we provide the best possible education we can and this starts with excellent attendance.
This week, our whole school attendance is 94.58%.
Year Group | % Attendance up to 27.06.25 |
Year 3 | 94.9% |
Year 4 | 93.9% |
Year 5 | 94.8% |
Year 6 | 94.5% |
Crazy Hair Day - Friday 5th July
In order to support our Year 6 pupils who have been busy organising a Summer Fete, they have planned a 'Crazy Hair Day' on Friday 5th July. On this day, for a donation of a child friendly tombola prize eg sweets, chocolate, squash, children are invited to come to school with the craziest hair they can!
Transition
Transition is an important part of school life towards the end of an academic year when pupils and staff alike are beginning to think about their new classes. This year, as we did last year, we will be mixing classes so that friendship groups are broadened as well as ensuring the best learning environment for all children. Staff have ensured that every pupil will have a friend from their previous class to support this transition.
Our transition morning will be earlier this year so that we are able to support any pupils that find this time more difficult by adding in additional transition activities if needed. Pupils will meet their new teacher and spend a morning as a new class on Tuesday 1st July. Teachers are already excited and planning lots of fantastic activities for them all to complete.
