Spring 2025 - Issue 11
Dear Families,

What a fun packed couple of weeks we have had at Tipton Green!
Both Year 5 and Year 6 have enjoyed trips to Carding Mill Valley and Cadbury World. On both trips, staff were impressed with the knowledge that pupils applied as well as their behaviour. Year 5 deepened their geographical knowledge of rivers while our Year 6 historians used their skills to recall facts about Mayan's - and ate a delicious cup of chocolate!

This week, we have welcomed families into school for our parent consultations. Thank you to those who were able to attend: we hope you found them useful. If you have any further questions or were not able to attend parents evening this week, please let class teachers know and they will be happy to arrange a time to meet with you.
Our Comic Relief celebrations today marked a lovely end of the week. There was a lovely atmosphere around school, with pupils showing a real understanding of why we were raising money. Thank you for helping us support this important cause.

Thank you also to those who supported the school through the purchasing of books from the book fair as well as the sale in the hall. Your contributions will allow us to continue to purchase further reading resources to continue improving our curriculum.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Richards
Attendance
We track attendance weekly in school and monitor pupils attendance which is falling below 96%. We appreciate that the colder weather brings lots of cold and flu, however please consider Leave of Absence requests carefully and arrange a meeting with school before booking any time out of school during the term time. We want to ensure that we provide the best possible education we can and this starts with excellent attendance.
This week, our whole school attendance improved in every year group increasing it to 94.77%. Well done everyone - every single year group have improved their attendance again!
Year Group | % Attendance up to 21.03.25 |
Year 3 | 95.33% - Well done Year 3 - improved attendance |
Year 4 | 93.96%- Well Done Year 4 - improved attendance |
Year 5 | 95.09% - Well done Year 5 - improved attendance |
Year 6 | 94.7% - Well done Year 6 - improved attendance |
Exciting Reading Update

We are excited to announce that our new reading scheme has arrived in school. We are busy getting these ready to be given out so that pupils can enjoy some fantastic new resources! Money raised during the Christmas Fayre has been put towards the purchasing of this new scheme - we are so grateful for your support with this.
We hope that you enjoy sharing the free books that school gave away last week - Y6 certainly enjoyed delving into the pile and taking home some favourites as well as some new titles!
Easter Egg Competition
We are holding an ‘Eggcellent’ egg decorating competition in school with a chocolate prize per year group.
All pupils are invited to decorate an egg (or eggs) with a theme of your choice and bring into school on the 7th or 8th April. The winning designs will be chosen on Wednesday 9th April. We send you lots of eggs-tra luck and hope you have an eggstastic time making them!
Please make sure entries are made using blown eggs, polystyrene eggs or using a cardboard egg template. For further details and entry slips, please see the letter found here.
Tipton Football
Both our girls and boys football teams played in matches recently demonstrating skill, teamship and perseverance. We are so proud of their efforts and the way in which they represented our school. Keep up the hard work team Tipton!
Medicines in School
Please can I remind families that any medication taken by pupils must come into the school office and not be sent in with children in their school bags. This is so that the correct forms can be filled in and so that we can safeguard all pupils by keeping medication safe and away from others.
We recommend that when possible, medication should be given at home rather than sending it into school. For example, if it is required 3 times a day, this can be given before school, straight after school and at bedtime.
Car Park at the start and end of the day
A polite reminder that parents should not be driving onto the school car park at the beginning and end of the day to drop off and pick up pupils. Some families have an agreed arrangement to pull onto the car park due to special circumstances however we ask that you park on the road if this is not the case. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that our school grounds and the surrounding community are safe and respectful to families and local residents.
