Stepping Back in Time: Year 3 at the Black Country Museum

Writer: Tipton GreenTipton Green

February 2025

On 26th February, we went to the Black Country History Museum. We had a great time learning all about the coal mining industry in the Black Country, and the important role that the Black Country played in the Industrial Revolution. We got to experience a real lesson as a Victorian school child, learning reading, writing and arithmetic, or the three 'R's. We explored the Victorian shops and learned all about how people lived during Victorian England, including how they did their washing! We also explored some of the newer parts of the museum and thought about how travel and shopping has changed in the past 100 years.
