Autumn 2025 - Issue 7

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

ree

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fayre last week - whether by joining us on the day or providing donations beforehand. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over £1,000, which will go towards the continued development of our Secret Garden Project. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the festive atmosphere together.

This week, the Christmas celebrations continued with Christmas Jumper Day and a delicious Christmas dinner, which our pupils thoroughly enjoyed. All of our year groups delighted us with a week of fantastic Christmas performances, and pupils across the school shone in their concerts, reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas through festive songs and dancing.

Looking ahead, our final week of term promises even more excitement, including the Final Merit Award Assemblies and Grinch Day on Thursday 18th December. Please remember that school will close early on Friday, with all pupils finishing at 1:00 pm.

On behalf of all the staff, we wish you a wonderful holiday break and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Mrs Richards

Staffing Update

We are delighted to share some exciting news regarding our Year 6 team. A new teacher – Mrs Walker - will be joining our school and working alongside Mrs Walters in Class 10. Mrs Walker is an experienced Year 6 teacher who will be joining our team at the beginning of January.

Mrs Favata will not be leaving Tipton Green Junior School. She will continue to play an active role in the classroom while also focusing on her responsibilities as our SENDCo, ensuring that all children receive the support they need to thrive.

We will also be welcoming another member of staff, Mrs Gilmore, who will be joining us as Assistant Headteacher in January, adding further strength to our Senior Leadership team as we continue our school improvement journey.

Parking around School

Please can we remind families to take care when parking around the local area. It has been brought to our attention by local residents that cars are blocking drives and parking illegally at the beginning or the end of the day. We appreciate that parking can be difficult however this is putting local residents and pupils at risk. Thank you for your understanding with this.

STEM Learning Day

Year 5 and Year 6 pupils took part in an exciting STEM workshop this week that combined creativity, teamwork and lots of hands-on learning. The workshop was not only great fun—it also encouraged problem-solving, communication and resilience. We were so impressed with the children’s creativity and teamwork. Follow the links in the pictures below to found out more about what they all did.

Learning at Tipton Green

Following Parent Feedback, we are aware that families are not always aware of what pupils are learning in school. Over the last term, we have worked to ensure the website has lots of information regarding our curriculum offer and this work will continue to take place in the Spring Term.

Termly Curriculum Overviews are available on the Year Group pages of the school website, giving information of the learning which will be covered next term. Please follow this link to find these overviews. https://www.tgjs.org.uk/yeargroups

Grinch Week Begins!

Our reading ambassadors confidently stood in front of the whole school and shared the story of The Grinch, setting the perfect tone for our Christmas-themed week starting on Monday. Their enthusiasm and clear reading helped bring the story to life, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school.

Choir Steal the show!

What a fabulous two weeks our Choir have had. Not only have they perform to over 200 people at the Council House but they also shined brightly in a small performance to their parents this week.
