Our wonderful Wellbeing Ambassadors proudly showcased their day at the SHAPE event. It was fantastic to see them confidently and enthusiastically sharing their experiences and the valuable information they learned.

Year 5 are bringing their learning on life cycles to life by caring for their very own caterpillars. Over the coming weeks, they will observe the fascinating transformation as the caterpillars grow, form chrysalises, and eventually emerge as butterflies. This hands-on experience is a fantastic way to deepen their understanding of life cycles and witness nature in action.

In Year 5 Science, children explored plant reproduction through a hands-on investigation. They carefully dissected a tulip, identifying and examining the different parts of the plant involved in reproduction, such as the petals, anther and stigma. This practical activity helped bring their learning to life, allowing them to see first-hand how each part plays a role in the plant’s life cycle.

After-school clubs are now in full swing. In 3D Illusion Art Club, children took on the challenge of creating a freehand drawing of a Penrose triangle. Following an online tutorial, they showed impressive focus and patience, carefully working through each step to achieve the optical illusion effect. Our Year 3 pupils stepped into the spotlight as they filmed themselves reading their very own advert scripts! As part of their learning, the children have been busy writing persuasive adverts to promote a chocolate bar. They carefully chose exciting vocabulary and convincing language to make their products sound irresistible. Pupils confidently read out their advert transcripts.

Year 4 took part in the TCS Mini Marathon, where they completed laps of the pitch and playground, raising awareness of the importance of running together, staying active, and having fun through exercise. In DT this week, Year 4 developed their sewing skills as part of their textiles project. They learned how to thread a needle, tie a knot, and sew a simple design onto the front of their cushion. Pupils were reminded to work carefully, safely, and take their time to produce neat stitching. In the following lesson, pupils will sew the sides of their cushion together using a running stitch. Year 4 enjoyed getting creative as they made their own beautiful Easter cards. Using a range of craft materials, the children designed lovely spring-themed cards featuring a textured bunny face on the front using a cutting from an egg tray. They carefully cut and arranged the bunny’s long ears, added googly eyes, a soft pink nose, and finished their designs with a decorative ribbon bow. Tipton Green boys started the game on top against a team who has won all their matches this season. We won the battles and tried to keep the ball on floor as much as possible. Second half began and the game was very end to end. Summerhill took the lead and Tipton Green did so well to stay on top and create pressure which lead to us scoring a great goal to make the game 1-1. This should cement our place in the quarter finals.

Game started with a very physical battle straight away. Hargate were very dominant with their tackles. Tipton Green did so well to keep their heads and try and play football we knew would win us the game. 1-0 lead at half time helped us settle the game down in the second half and go on to winning the game 3-1 to qualify through the group stages.

The Rock Steady concert at Tipton Green was a lively and enjoyable event, celebrating the musical achievements of the pupils. With families and staff in attendance, the concert created a supportive atmosphere where students could showcase their growing confidence and skills. Red Nose Day was a fun and meaningful event in our school. The children came to school wearing an item of red to show their support. There was a great sense of excitement and community throughout the day. Everyone made a fantastic effort, and it was lovely to see so many creative red outfits. The children also donated money, helping to raise funds for an important cause. Overall, it was a successful day that brought everyone together while supporting others in need.

The children have worked really hard in Woolcraft Club. They have created pom-poms in a variety of sizes, either using them to make pictures or turning them into keyrings.

As part of their Raging Rivers Geography topic, Year 5 visited Carding Mill Valley to explore river features in a real-life setting. The children took part in a guided walk, a river study and river dipping, supported by National Trust volunteers.
