Year 3 Travel Back to the Stone Age!
Year 3 went back in time on Tuesday 21st October to the Stone Age! On our trip to Tanglewood, Year 3 got to experience life as a real Stone Age hunter-gatherer. We first got to see how a real Stone Age person would have dressed and what they would have looked like. Then, we got to create our own tribes and had to survive a day in the life! Throughout the day, we tested our hunting skills with some archery, learned how to start a fire to cook our meals, and then had to build

Poppy Project!
As we approach the half-term holiday, we are planning a special project to commemorate Remembrance Day. We would like to invite our students to create a poppy at home during the break. These poppies will be part of an outdoor display at school, honouring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. While we would love for every child to participate, please note that this activity is not compulsory. If your child wishes to join in, they can use any materials they have

Black History Month in Year 4
In Year 4, we learned about significant Black people who made a difference by standing up for what was right. We studied inspiring figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X. We also explored modern-day inspirational Black people, including Usain Bolt and Mo Farah. We read some of their most powerful quotes and each chose one that inspired us. Then, we created bold and colourful artwork using felt-tip pens, adding our chosen quote to make our picture st

Year 5 and 6 Boys Football Match vs St Paul’
The Year 5 and 6 football team faced their toughest match yet against St Paul’s, ending in an exciting 2–2 draw. After a hard-fought first half that finished 0–0, Tipton came out determined in the second half. Despite going 1–0 down, the team showed real resilience and fought their way back into the game. Ollie lifted spirits with a fantastic free kick that found the back of the net, levelling the score. The defence worked tirelessly throughout the match, making some brillian

Scribble Bots in Action: Science Club Gets Creative
This week in Science Club, the children got hands-on with a fun and creative STEM project — building their very own scribble bots! Scribble bots are simple robots that move around and draw patterns on paper, and the kids loved experimenting with them. Each bot was made using a small motor, a battery, and a few craft materials, like cups, markers, and tape. Once assembled, they watched in delight as their bots vibrated, wobbled, and scribbled across the paper.

School Council in Action!
School council have been busy promoting our pupil voice survey. We are trying to find out what children like about using technology and if there is anything we can do as a school to improve. Next week, we will be presenting what we found out in assembly and hopefully using what we learned to use technology more effectively in school.

Cooking Club
Tuesday 14th October 2025 In Cooking Club, we made a healthy version of spaghetti Bolognese. We began by chopping peppers and mushrooms, then added them to a mixture of chopped tomatoes and Quorn mince. While the sauce simmered, we boiled spaghetti until it was cooked. We learned that using Quorn mince and plenty of vegetables is a healthy way to make this classic dish, reducing fat while still keeping it tasty and filling.

Tuesday 14th October 2025 Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Hockerhill Play Barn, where they took part in a hands-on session learning how to make pizza dough — a fun and practical introduction to their next Design and Technology topic: bread-making. The children practised key skills such as mixing ingredients, kneading the dough and stretching it out to create a smooth pizza base.
