Festive Fun at our Christmas Fayre

A Cosy Winter Treat!
Today in Cooking Club we made our very own hot chocolate toppers, perfect for a cosy winter or Christmas drink! The children melted both milk and white chocolate, then carefully added a lollipop stick to each one. Pasta-Making Fun in DT!
Year 5 had great fun making pasta as part of their DT project! They carefully and accurately measured and prepared their ingredients, showing fantastic attention to detail. Using a range of gadgets and utensils, the children cut, shaped, and combined their dough with growing confidence. Year 4 Bake Bread!
Today, in Design and Technology Year 4 planned and designed their own bread. The children began by exploring different ideas and deciding what type of bread they wanted to create. Once their designs were finished, they followed a recipe carefully and used a range of ingredients, including plain flour, yeast, warm water, salt, sugar, and oil. Year 6 Visit to Haden Hill House
Class 12 had a fantastic time visiting Haden Hill House! The students fully immersed themselves in the experience, enjoying activities like role play, dressing up in historical costumes, and experiencing what it was like to be evacuated to the countryside. They even tried shopping with a ration book, giving them a real taste of life during the war. It was a memorable and educational day, and a wonderful time was had by all!

Learning in Year 3
For our Science topic ‘Magnets and Forces’, Year 3 have been learning about friction and how it affects moving objects. We set up an investigation to find out how an object moves on different surfaces. We found out that smoother surfaces create less friction, allowing an object to travel further. Wolves Academy Tournament
Tipton Green arrived at the Wolves Compton training ground full of excitement to play in this tournament at a unique venue. This showed on the pitch with us winning our first game 3-0. Second game was a very close end to end 0-0 before we won our third game 4-0. Last game of the group saw us against Hateley Heath primary and winner would top the group. A Simple Baking Success!
Today we made shortbread using just three ingredients: plain flour, caster sugar, and unsalted butter. After carefully measuring each ingredient, we used our hands to knead the mixture together. We talked about how important it is to use the correct measurements when following a recipe. Once the dough was ready, we scored the top with a fork and sprinkled a little extra sugar over it. School Council Leads Parliament Week Assembly
Today, our School Council led an assembly in celebration of UK Parliament Week. They explained that the role of the UK Parliament is to challenge the government and discuss issues that matter to people living across the country. We explored topics that are important to us and considered which of these might be discussed in Parliament. We also found out who our local MP is, so we know who to contact if there’s an issue we care about and want to make a difference.

Healthy Veggie & Fruit Skewers in Cooking Club
In cooking club, we made healthy vegetable skewers by cutting up fresh vegetables such as peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. We then added pieces of chicken or halloumi to create a colourful and balanced snack. For a sweet treat, we made fruit skewers, carefully cutting a range of fruit into chunky pieces before threading them onto sticks. Both dishes were quick, healthy and fun for the children to make.
