Today, our School Council, Head Boy and Head Girl and deputies met up and took part in some school council training. We discussed what it means to be a leader and shared our ideas with other school councils. We talked about how we can deliver an engaging assembly and what we need to do to prepare for an assembly. We got lots of ideas for different assemblies we could lead including telling a story, running a quiz, talking about important world events and talking about safety.

As part of our annual Harvest Festival celebrations, we would like to invite the children to take part in supporting those in need within our community. This year, we are collecting donations for the Black Country Foodbank. Donations can be brought into school by Friday 2nd October. Our young entrepreneurs have been busy getting creative in preparation for our Christmas Fayre! This week, the children have been making salt dough Christmas decorations, which they will paint and decorate next week, ready to sell at the fayre. The children have enjoyed getting hands-on, developing their creativity and learning about enterprise as they work together to create products to sell. This week, Year 6 swapped their classrooms for a 'science lab'. They took on the role of scientists as they embarked on an exciting journey to learn more about the human body and the circulatory system. Equipped with gloves, curiosity and plenty of scientific enthusiasm, the children carefully examined the hearts, identifying key features and comparing them to diagrams they had studied in class. Year 3 had a fantastic time this week in science exploring the rock cycle by using chocolate to model how different types of rocks are formed. We melted, pressed and cooled our chocolate "rocks" to represent igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. It was a fun way to understand how rocks change over millions of years through heat, pressure and erosion!

The children have settled really well into their Year 5 routine. They have been hooked on our first English unit which is a narrative - character description. The children enjoyed a clip called 'Broken - Rock, Paper, Scissors' and are enjoying getting to know the characters. Today in Science, Year 4 learnt all about our teeth. We talked about what we need to do to keep our teeth healthy and what happens when we visit the dentist. We then looked closely at our own teeth using mirrors. We identified the different types of teeth in our mouths and explored how they vary in shape, size and position. The children examined a collection of evidence, including an old map of Tipton, photographs of the luxurious manor house, a floor plan, photographs of the family who once lived there and a diary entry from 1914. Summer 2026 - Issue 18 Dear Parents, Carers and Families, It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of the summer term and another successful school year. What a fantastic year it has been, filled with memorable experiences, achievements and happy moments for our pupils, families and staff. Our Year 6 leavers have had a wonderful, fun-filled day celebrating together! They enjoyed a bouncy castle, bouncy slide, ice creams, and lots of fun with the parachute, making special memories with their friends.

Year 4 enjoyed an exciting and immersive Roman Day, where they stepped back in time to experience life in Roman Britain. Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of engaging activities that brought their history learning to life and helped deepen their understanding of the Roman Empire. One of the highlights of the day was learning about Roman numerals. The children explored how the Romans represented numbers using letters and practised reading and writing them.

Year 5 brought all of their science learning to life with an exciting trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester. During the visit, the children explored the fascinating exhibits, discovering a wealth of facts about space and science. This week, Year 4 created the bases for their exciting buzz wire games. They decorated the wooden base using the designs they planned last week before carefully bending the metal wire to create a challenging course. After an amazing season, the boys found themselves in the quarter finals of the cup against Moat Farm Junior School. The boys started well, defending as a unit and creating some good chances, hitting the post midway through the first half. Moat Farm also offered a threat causing our keeper to make some good saves.
