How wonderful does our hall look with the Christmas tree sparkling away? Staff have been working so hard to decorate their classroom doors, and they look amazing — from candy cane designs and twinkling Christmas trees to Home Alone –themed doors. The choir performed brilliantly at the Christmas concert, truly getting into the festive spirit. Mrs. Wise added a special touch by making cupcakes and serving hot chocolate topped with cream, marshmallows, and sprinkles for parents and children to enjoy.

As the hot chocolate toppers were so popular last week, Cooking Club used a similar method to make their very own Christmas chocolate bar. First, we melted milk chocolate and layered it into the shape of a Christmas tree. Next, we melted white chocolate to create the tinsel decoration. Then we added sprinkles and Smarties to make colourful baubles, and finally topped our Christmas tree chocolate bar with a chocolate star. It looked wonderfully festive — and tasted even better

Our school choir had a wonderful and memorable visit to the Council House! The children were thrilled to meet both the Mayor and Santa — and were delighted to each receive a special present. The choir performed a selection of songs, bringing smiles to everyone in the room. They sang beautifully and represented our school with pride, confidence, and plenty of Christmas cheer! The Tipton Green Christmas Fayre with Silvertrees Academy was a truly fantastic event and one to remember! Today in Cooking Club we made our very own hot chocolate toppers, perfect for a cosy winter or Christmas drink! Today, in Design and Technology Year 4 planned and designed their own bread. The children began by exploring different ideas and deciding what type of bread they wanted to create. Once their designs were finished, they followed a recipe carefully and used a range of ingredients, including plain flour, yeast, warm water, salt, sugar, and oil. After preparing the dough, each child personalised their bread by choosing their own extra ingredient. They could add cheese, currants,

Class 12 had a fantastic time visiting Haden Hill House! The students fully immersed themselves in the experience, enjoying activities like role play, dressing up in historical costumes, and experiencing what it was like to be evacuated to the countryside. They even tried shopping with a ration book, giving them a real taste of life during the war. It was a memorable and educational day, and a wonderful time was had by all!

For our Science topic ‘Magnets and Forces’, Year 3 have been learning about friction and how it affects moving objects. We set up an investigation to find out how an object moves on different surfaces. We found out that smoother surfaces create less friction, allowing an object to travel further. Today we made shortbread using just three ingredients: plain flour, caster sugar, and unsalted butter. After carefully measuring each ingredient, we used our hands to knead the mixture together. We talked about how important it is to use the correct measurements when following a recipe. Once the dough was ready, we scored the top with a fork and sprinkled a little extra sugar over it. Today, our School Council led an assembly in celebration of UK Parliament Week. They explained that the role of the UK Parliament is to challenge the government and discuss issues that matter to people living across the country. We explored topics that are important to us and considered which of these might be discussed in Parliament. We also found out who our local MP is, so we know who to contact if there’s an issue we care about and want to make a difference.
