A Thoughtful Visit to Year 4
Year 4 Our lovely visitor from this morning’s assembly stayed on to spend time with Year 4, where the children took part in a thoughtful and engaging question-and-answer session. They asked insightful questions about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), learning about the influence he has and why he is so important to Muslims. The children listened carefully and showed great curiosity and respect as they deepened their understanding of Islam.

Learning About Ramadan and Eid
We were very lucky to welcome a special visitor into school who came to talk to the children about the upcoming Muslim celebrations of Ramadan and Eid. The visitor explained that Ramadan is a very important time for Muslims, when they fast, pray, show kindness to others and reflect on their actions. Year 5 Art
Children in Year 5 were asked to recreate the texture and impression of a wall on a polystyrene tile, which they then printed into their books. This activity links with the next lesson, where they will build on their work by adding a further piece of artwork inspired by the style of Banksy. The children used printing ink to create their prints, experimenting carefully with texture and pattern.

ECO Ambassadors Launch Battery Recycling Bin!
In the ECO Ambassadors’ first meeting of the academic year, they discussed new ways we can recycle more and reduce waste in school. One idea the children were particularly enthusiastic about was introducing a battery recycling bin — and they went ahead and ordered one themselves! Now, any used batteries we have in school will be placed in the battery bin provided. Batteries should not go into general waste, as they are a fire hazard in bin lorries and at landfill sites.

Little Chefs Cook Up a Healthy Spaghetti Bolognese
Cooking Club made a healthy spaghetti bolognese this week. The children peeled mushrooms and finely chopped them, along with peppers, before adding them to chopped tomatoes. They learnt how to hold vegetables correctly and how to cut them safely. Quorn mince was added to the sauce, and the spaghetti was carefully boiled. Year 3 Geometry Detectives
Year 3 have been learning about right angles as part of their NCETM maths mastery journey. They began by exploring turns, before investigating what makes an angle a right angle. Year 3 Litter Picking Champions
Children in Year 3 have been taking great care of their school community by helping to keep our grounds clean and tidy. Armed with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the children worked together to collect rubbish and make a positive difference to their environment. Year 4 Animation Workshop
Year 4 pupils took part in an exciting and creative animation workshop led by Engagedu, where they explored both digital drawing and stop‑motion animation techniques. The workshop began with pupils using iPads and a stylus to design their own stick‑figure characters using the app Flipkit. Year 4 Cricket Skills in PE
Year 4 enjoyed a great PE lesson focusing on cricket fielding skills, learning how to create strong long bridges. The children worked together to roll the ball accurately and ensure it was stopped before rolling past them, showing excellent teamwork and control throughout the session.

Science Club
Years 3 & 4 science club had lots of fun making earthquake proof structures. Using jelly sweets and cocktail sticks, we tested each structure to ensure the it could withstand earthquake conditions. The children all did really well and even managed to not eat any of the sweets!!

Cooking Club: Easy One-Bowl Fudgy Cocoa Brownies
Cooking Club made easy one-bowl fudgy cocoa brownies using butter, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla, flour and a pinch of salt, with groups adding chocolate chunks for extra richness. Pupils worked collaboratively to measure ingredients accurately, melt and mix safely, and follow the recipe in the correct order. Tipton Green watched an exciting virtual assembly with children’s author Ross Montgomery. Ross is a well-known author of children’s books, including The Midnight Guardians , I Am Rebel and Space Tortoise . Pizza, Teamwork and Fun in Cooking Club!
A great start to Cooking Club this spring term for Years 5 and 6! The children made healthy pizzas by spreading tomato purée onto wraps and adding a range of toppings, including mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn, ham and pepperoni. They practised cutting vegetables carefully and safely, worked well together, and showed responsibility by helping with washing up and cleaning the tables afterwards. Year 6: Is Yeast a Living Thing?
In science, we carried out an exciting investigation to answer the question: Is yeast a living thing? To test this, we added warm water, one teaspoon of sugar, and a packet of yeast into a bottle, then carefully stretched a balloon over the top. We predicted what might happen and watched closely.
