Poppies for Remembrance
This week, the children have been creating poppies to plant in the playground in preparation for our Remembrance Day service on Tuesday. Our School Council has also been actively supporting the Poppy Appeal through their poppy sales. Thank you to all families for the wonderful artwork produced at home. We look forward to showcasing these as part of our outdoor display.

Lava Lamp Magic at Science Club
Science Club had an exciting session today! Using vegetable oil and bicarbonate of soda, the children experimented to make their own lava lamps. By mixing food colouring with white vinegar, they created a fun chemical reaction with the bicarbonate of soda — resulting in a bubbling, lava lamp effect! The children were amazed to see science in action and loved watching their colourful creations come to life.

Animation Club!
The children are really enjoying their time at Animation Club! This week, they’ve been busy creating colourful backdrops for their short films. Using their imagination and creativity, they designed scenes to bring their stories to life. We can’t wait to see their finished animations!

Creating Poppies for Remembrance
Monday 3rd November 2025 Over the half-term break, some of our children have been busy creating beautiful poppies for our outdoor Remembrance display. We have already received some stunning pieces, including a suncatcher, a wooden cross and a wreath made from origami poppies. We can’t wait to see what other creations arrive! Stay Safe, Speak Out – NSPCC Assembly
This week, our children took part in a special assembly led by the NSPCC  about the importance of staying safe and speaking out. During the session, the children were introduced to Buddy , the NSPCC’s friendly green mascot. Student Council Shares Technology Survey Results
Last week, school council did a survey to find out how children feel about using technology in school. Today, they bravely gave an assembly to share with school what they had learned. As a result of our survey, the student council decided we need to have charging monitors in school to make sure the chrome books are charged, and we also discussed adding more opportunities into school for creating digital art. A Celebration of Creativity!
As you walk into Tipton Green, you can see the school’s wonderful art gallery on display, showcasing amazing pieces from all year groups. The collection includes vibrant poppy artwork, creative pieces inspired by Black History Month, and striking self-portraits created in the styles of two different artists. The gallery was on display yesterday during Parents’ Evening and will be available to view again this afternoon for the second Parents’ Evening.

Year 3 Travel Back to the Stone Age!
Year 3 went back in time on Tuesday 21st October to the Stone Age! On our trip to Tanglewood, Year 3 got to experience life as a real Stone Age hunter-gatherer. We first got to see how a real Stone Age person would have dressed and what they would have looked like. Then, Â we got to create our own tribes and had to survive a day in the life! Black History Month in Year 4
In Year 4, we learned about significant Black people who made a difference by standing up for what was right. We studied inspiring figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X. We also explored modern-day inspirational Black people, including Usain Bolt and Mo Farah. We read some of their most powerful quotes and each chose one that inspired us. Year 5 and 6 Boys Football Match vs St Paul’
The Year 5 and 6 football team faced their toughest match yet against St Paul’s, ending in an exciting 2–2 draw. Pupil Voice in Action: Improving Technology Use in School
Today, student council met to discuss the outcomes of our pupil voice technology survey. They came up with some fantastic ideas to solve problems with using technology in school, and we discussed some great ideas as to how we can better use technology to support our learning. We are looking forward to sharing what we found out in assembly next week.

Scribble Bots in Action: Science Club Gets Creative
This week in Science Club, the children got hands-on with a fun and creative STEM project — building their very own scribble bots! Scribble bots are simple robots that move around and draw patterns on paper, and the kids loved experimenting with them. Each bot was made using a small motor, a battery, and a few craft materials, like cups, markers, and tape. Once assembled, they watched in delight as their bots vibrated, wobbled, and scribbled across the paper.

School Council in Action!
School council have been busy promoting our pupil voice survey. Cooking Club
Tuesday 14th October 2025 In Cooking Club, we made a healthy version of spaghetti Bolognese. We began by chopping peppers and mushrooms, then added them to a mixture of chopped tomatoes and Quorn mince. While the sauce simmered, we boiled spaghetti until it was cooked. We learned that using Quorn mince and plenty of vegetables is a healthy way to make this classic dish, reducing fat while still keeping it tasty and filling.

Year 4 Visit to Hockerhill Play Barn – Learning Through Pizza!
Tuesday 14th October 2025 Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Hockerhill Play Barn, where they took part in a hands-on session learning how to make pizza dough — a fun and practical introduction to their next Design and Technology topic: bread-making.
